The Pentair Pentek ChlorPlus Protect 10 replacement cartridge is a professional-grade carbon block cartridge for point-of-use, undersink applications. It reduces PFOA and PFOS, the so-called forever chemicals, along with sediment, chlorine, and chloramine, delivering cleaner and better-tasting water at the tap. The model ChlorPlus Protect 10 is certified by IAPMO R&T against NSF/ANSI 53 for the reduction of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS), and the system reduces up to 98% of PFOA and PFOS. The carbon block media filters to a fine 1 micron rating, addressing dissolved chemicals and fine particles in a single cartridge. It is rated for a capacity of 1,000 gallons (3,785 L) and an approximate filter life of 4 to 5 months at a service flow rate of 1 gpm (3.785 Lpm). Operating conditions are a feed pressure range of 0 to 125 psi (2.1 to 8.6 bar) and a temperature range of 40 to 100 degrees F (4.4 to 37.8 degrees C). This cartridge is the drop-in replacement for the Pentair ChlorPlus Protect 10 PFOA/PFOS undersink system, which uses a 10-inch heavy-duty polypropylene housing with a 3/4" FPT inlet and a 5.13" x 12.23" footprint. Replace the cartridge approximately every 4 to 5 months, or sooner when you notice a drop in water flow or quality, since filter life varies with incoming water quality and usage.
