The Pentair Pentek NCP-20BB is a dual-purpose Big Blue cartridge that combines sediment filtration with chlorine taste and odor reduction in one 10-micron filter. Built from carbon-impregnated non-cellulose polyester with a polypropylene core, it handles both municipal and non-chlorinated water sources, making it a versatile choice for whole house systems, well water applications, and post-reverse osmosis polishing. This pack of 6 provides a long-term supply for scheduled maintenance.
The pleated media design maximizes surface area for high dirt-loading capacity while maintaining a pressure drop of just 1 psi at 10 gpm. This construction extends service life compared to flat-sheet carbon filters by allowing more contaminant contact across the expanded pleated surface. Each NCP-20BB cartridge is rated for 1,000 gallons of chlorine reduction at 4 gpm and operates within a temperature range of 40-125 degrees F (4.4-51.7 degrees C).
The NCP-20BB cartridge measures 4.50" x 20" and fits all standard 20" Big Blue and heavy-duty filter housings. It is an excellent choice for closed-loop systems, polishing applications, and anywhere dual sediment and carbon filtration is needed in a single cartridge.
