• PLEATED, NOT SPUN – A pleated cartridge folds the media into a fan so it presents far more surface area than a smooth wall of the same size. Dirt spreads across the whole face instead of loading one spot, which is why a pleated filter can run a fine grade without the pressure drop you would expect. It can also be rinsed once or twice before it is spent, which no spun cartridge will do.
• CLEARER WATER FROM EVERY SOURCE – Whether your home runs on municipal tap water or a private well, the cartridge captures the sand, silt, dirt and rust that cloud water and wear out fixtures and appliances. Sediment media works on particles only — for taste and odor add a carbon stage, and for certified contaminant reduction look for cartridges tested to NSF/ANSI standards for those claims.
• FITS THESE PART NUMBERS – Direct replacement at 5 micron for W34-PR, WC34-PR and WVC34, and the R30 pleated position. It measures 9.75 by 2.625 inches, which is slightly fatter than a standard 2.5 inch cartridge but still seats in most 10 inch slim line housings. Coarser pleated cartridges such as R50 at 50 micron fit the same housing but pass much larger particles.
• MATCH THE FILTER TO YOUR WATER – Cartridges are maintenance parts, not water treatment plans, and no single one handles everything. Carbon reduces chlorine taste and odor. Sediment media captures sand, silt, dirt and rust. For any specific contaminant you are concerned about, look for a system certified to the NSF/ANSI standard that names it. If you are on a private well, start with a water test.
