It has a larger surface area and has a longer filter life. This water filter cartridge removes more pollutants by providing "depth" filtering.

•BUILT FOR HOSE WATER – Campground and marina spigots are the reason this cartridge exists. City water at a hookup is often heavily chlorinated, and a warm hose lying in the sun adds a flavour of its own before the water ever reaches your tap. Granular carbon reduces chlorine taste and odor, so what comes out of the galley tap tastes like water rather than like the hose.

•CHECK YOUR HOUSING – Replaces cartridges numbered 52412 and C-2063 on size, and fits any standard housing built for a 9 3/4 x 2 1/2 in cartridge, in an RV or boat bay or under a sink at home. Measure before ordering: a 20 in housing and a 4.5 in Big Blue housing both take a different cartridge. An inline hose filter is a different product and this will not fit one.

•GRANULAR OR BLOCK – Granular carbon and carbon block do the same job by different means. Granular is looser, passes more water per minute, and suits a system where flow matters. A block is denser and holds the water in contact with the carbon longer. If your system came with one or the other, staying with it is the simple choice. Either way, run a sediment cartridge ahead of the carbon if your water carries grit.

🛠️ Specifications

• Brand : CFS
• Size : 1 Count (Pack of 1)
• Material : Carbon,Coconut Shell,Activated Carbon
• Unit : 1 Count
• Color : White
• Hazardous materials : {'aspect': 'transportation_regulatory_class', 'value': '9'}
• Item highlights : Granular activated carbon reduces chlorine, taste & odor in RV & marine water systems; fits 10 x 2.5 in housings
• Number of items : 1
• Package quantity : 1
• Product benefit : Removes bad taste and odor
• Type : POTABLE_WATER_FILTER

📋 Product Description

Granular activated carbon water filter cartridges in the standard 10 x 2.5 in size, for housings that take 52412 or C-2063. The media is loose granular activated carbon rather than a compressed block. Granular carbon passes water more freely, which matters in an RV or marine system where you want usable flow at the tap. A carbon block holds water in contact with the media longer; granular trades some of that contact time for flow. Both reduce chlorine taste and odor - they go about it differently. Where it earns its keep is hose water. City water at a campground or marina hookup is often heavily chlorinated, and a warm hose sitting in the sun adds a flavour of its own before the water reaches your tap. Carbon between the hookup and the galley makes the difference between water you drink and water you only wash with. It fits any standard housing built for a 9 3/4 x 2 1/2 in cartridge, which covers most RV and marine bay-mounted housings as well as household under-sink units. An inline hose filter is a different product and this cartridge will not fit one. It is a taste and odor stage only. If your water also carries visible sediment, run a sediment cartridge ahead of it so the carbon is not doing particulate work it was not built for - granular media in particular will channel once grit works into it. Service life depends on use and on what the water carries. A typical draw gives about three months from a cartridge. A cartridge that has been wet and then stored dry over a winter is worth replacing rather than reusing.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0780/3584/5340/files/img_05a64fac-a9c8-41c4-9ecc-7582ba59980b.jpg?v=1791938660
