Pentair Pentek SCBC-10 Carbon Block Cartridges reduce unwanted bad taste and odor and chlorine taste and odor from potable drinking water. Built from bonded powdered activated carbon (PAC) and rated at a nominal 0.5 micron, the SCBC-10 pairs fine particle reduction with high-capacity taste and odor performance for residential, food service, commercial, and industrial applications. The cartridge is protected by a pre-filter designed to trap sediment that typically plugs carbon block cartridges, significantly increasing useful life. With an initial pressure drop of 12 psi at 1 gpm and a temperature rating of 40 to 165 degrees F, it delivers steady flow and enhanced dirt-holding capacity. Construction includes polypropylene endcaps, a polyolefin inner and outer wrap, polyethylene netting, and Santoprene gaskets. The SCBC-10 measures 2.88 inches by 9.75 inches and fits standard 10-inch filter housings. It is rated for more than 20,000 gallons of chlorine taste and odor reduction at 1 gpm. Replace the cartridge when you notice a drop in water pressure or water quality. After installation, flush the cartridge before use to clear any carbon fines.
