The Pentair Pentek 150234 is a 20-inch Big Blue Heavy Duty filter housing built for whole-house, point-of-entry water filtration. Its large-capacity sump handles high-flow and heavy-sediment applications, letting a single housing help protect your plumbing, fixtures, appliances, and downstream filters. The 1" NPT threaded inlet and outlet ports connect directly to standard cold-water supply lines for a straightforward installation.The housing is molded from durable polypropylene and topped with a High-Flow Polypropylene (HFPP) cap sealed by an EPDM O-ring. With its 1" ports it produces only 1 psi of pressure drop at 15 gpm, so household water pressure stays strong even with a cartridge installed. It is rated to a maximum of 90 psi and an operating range of 40 to 100 degrees F, measures 23.22" x 7.45" (590 x 189 mm) overall, and is compatible with a broad range of chemicals.Model 150234 is the without-pressure-relief configuration in Black/Blue, and is Tested and Certified by NSF International to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for material and structural integrity. It accepts standard 20" x 4.5" cartridges, including a wide variety of 4-1/2" diameter sediment, carbon, and specialty media; the cartridge is sold separately. The matching SW-4 filter wrench and mounting bracket are also sold separately. The same Big Blue housing is offered with a pressure relief button, in 3/4" and 1-1/2" NPT port sizes, and in a 10-inch length.
