Description
The Pentair Pentek GAC-BB is a 10-inch Big Blue whole-house cartridge filled with granular activated carbon (GAC) to reduce chlorine taste and odor and other unwanted tastes and odors from your water. It is designed for maximum contact between the water and the carbon bed, so water enters one end and passes through the full length of carbon before it exits.
An internal expansion pad minimizes channeling and bypass, keeping contact time consistent as the cartridge works. Before water leaves the cartridge, a post-filter, permanently fastened to a support basket, reduces carbon fines and other suspended particles so they do not carry downstream.
Measuring 10" x 4.5", the GAC-BB fits all 10-inch Pentair Pentek Big Blue and other heavy-duty housings and provides roughly 12,500 gallons of general-purpose drinking water filtration at a low 4 psi drop at 2 gpm. After installing, flush the cartridge before use. Replace about every 3 months, or sooner if taste and odor return or flow drops.
