Pentair Pentek CC-10 cartridges are an excellent choice to reduce unwanted chlorine taste and odor, as well as certain VOCs, from potable drinking water, and they also reduce MTBE. They contain coconut shell-based activated carbon, which produces drinking water of exceptional taste and quality and provides greater VOC reduction than standard granular activated carbon cartridges. Water enters one end and passes through the full length of the carbon bed before exiting the other end, while an internal expansion pad minimizes channeling and bypass. A spun polypropylene post-filter helps reduce carbon fines and other suspended particles and is permanently fastened to a support basket to help eliminate bypass. The CC-10 is tested and certified by NSF International to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for material requirements and is rated for 40 to 125 degrees F. This 9.75" x 2.5" cartridge fits standard 10-inch housings and is a straightforward replacement for any 10" x 2.5" carbon cartridge. It reduces chlorine taste and odor for up to 7,500 gallons at 1 gpm, providing good general-purpose drinking water filtration.
