Pentair Pentek EPM Series Cartridges are a modified, economically priced version of the EP Series carbon block, built with bonded powdered activated carbon (PAC). The EPM-20 reduces chlorine taste and odor and bad taste and odor along with sediment, carrying a nominal 10 micron rating for general whole house, residential, and light commercial use. The high-porosity design lets the cartridge use more of its carbon before plugging while holding an extremely low initial pressure drop of just 0.4 psi at 2 gpm, and an outer wrap traps sediment to extend the useful life of the block. The temperature rating is 40 to 180 degrees F, and the cartridge is tested and certified by NSF International to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for material requirements. The EPM-20 measures 2.89 inches by 20.065 inches and fits standard 20-inch filter housings. It is rated for more than 6,000 gallons of chlorine taste and odor reduction at 2 gpm. Replace the cartridge when you notice a drop in water pressure or water quality. After installation, flush the cartridge before use to clear any carbon fines.
