The Pentair Pentek GAC-10 is a granular activated carbon cartridge that reduces unwanted tastes and odors, including chlorine taste and odor, for cleaner, better-tasting drinking water. It is designed for maximum contact between the water and the carbon, providing good general-purpose filtration for everyday drinking and cooking. Water passes through the full length of the carbon bed for optimal adsorption, while an internal expansion pad minimizes channeling and bypass. A spun polypropylene post-filter on a support basket then helps reduce carbon fines and suspended particles. Initial pressure drop is 7.0 psi at 1.0 gpm and the cartridge is rated from 40 to 125 degrees F. This 2.88 by 9.75 inch cartridge fits standard 10 inch housings and is Tested and Certified by NSF International to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for material requirements only. It reduces chlorine taste and odor for about 5,000 gallons at 1 gpm. Flush at least 20 seconds before use, and replace when taste or odor returns.
